Max. size:  22 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: lower (Ref. 42510), middle and upper Congo River basin, from southern Cameroon up to Lake Mweru (Ref. 78218) in Zambia and Democratic Republic of the Congo. Also in the Kasai drainage in Angola (Ref. 11970).
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 40-42
Biology:  Oviparous (Ref. 205).

Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Known from the southern Congo River basin (Ref. 120641) in the rapids of the Luachimo River (Kasai drainage, middle Congo River basin) (Ref. 11970). Probably also in the Cuango (Ref. 12818; see also Ref. 2970).
