Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Cyprininae
Max. size:  15 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Mekong and Chao Praya basins.
Diagnosis:  Lacks barbels.
Biology:  Found in lowland floodplains. Most likely used to make prahoc (Ref. 12693).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 12 March 2011 Ref. (123251)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Known from the Chao Phraya basin (Ref. 12041); also from Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya (Ref. 37773). Also Ref. 12693, 26580.
