Max. size:  3.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; pH range: 7.5 - 8.30000019073486, potamodromous
Distribution:  Asia: India.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Reaches less than 2.5 cm TL. Probably one of the endangered species. Maximum length of 15 cm TL in Ref. 13614 is erroneous; length needs better source (RF).

Country info:  Known from Pamba river, Vembanad lake, Minachil river and Shertallai in Kerala (Ref. 41236). Recorded from Chaliyar & Kole wetlands of Trichur (Ref. 43640) and Chalakkudy river (Ref. 43638, 45207). Also Ref. 4833, 43641, 45255. Status of threat: Endangered (Ref. 50614).
