Max. size:  39 cm TL (male/unsexed); 45.1 cm TL (female)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 443 - 988 m
Distribution:  Northwest Atlantic: off Nova Scotia, Canada.
Biology:  Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Eggs have horn-like projections on the shell (Ref. 205).
IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated (N.E.) Ref. (123251)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Museum: off Nova Scotia, NMC 86-0036 (holotype, adolescent male, 390 mm TL) (Ref. 31389).
