Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine; depth range 0 - 388 m, oceanodromous
Distribution:  Northwest Atlantic: Labrador, Canada to Delaware, USA.
Biology:  Benthic; feeds on worms, crustaceans, molluscs, sea squirts, sea urchins and fishes (Ref. 58426).
