Family:  Plesiopidae (Roundheads), subfamily: Plesiopinae
Max. size:  15 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: Endemic to southern Australia, from Western Australia to South Australia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults occur inshore near reefs (Ref. 7300). They feed on crabs, fishes, and larvae (Ref. 9137). Eggs are guarded by the male parent (Ref. 205).

Threat to humans:  harmless
