Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobiinae
Max. size:  5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 7 m
Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic: southern Florida in USA (Ref. 7251) to northern South America.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 6-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-13; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 9-11. 13 dark bands narrower than pale interspaces (Ref. 26938).
Biology:  Inhabits rock faces and tide pools (often under red algae), pilings and surfaces of large sponges.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 01 March 2010 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
