Distinguished by its anterior nostril at the extremity of a small tube; axillary pelvic lobe rudimentary or absent; a complete lateral line; about 8-11 well marked vertical bars on the sides; often a vermiculated pattern on the cheeks (Ref. 27732). |

Found in stretches with relatively slow current and gravel or sandy substrate; stomach of one female contained arthropod remains (Ref. 27732). |
