Family:  Rhamphichthyidae (Sand knifefishes)
Max. size:  100 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: coastal rivers of northeastern South America.
Biology:  Was captured with a trammel net in the main tributaries of the river during the dry season. Its food consists of benthic aquatic invertebrates (Ref. 12225).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 23 November 2020 Ref. (124695)
