Max. size:  3.8 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; brackish
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: apparently only known from type material (type locality: Inhaca Islands, Mozambique); record from Madagascar needs confirmation.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 6-6. Distinguished by the following characteristics: 4 dark spots along anal base and lower caudal peduncle; 2 dark spots at caudal base (Ref. 2798).
