Distribution:  Oceania: endemic to Australia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in billabongs and streams in slow to fast-flowing water that is clear to turbid with rock, gravel or sand bottoms (Ref. 5259). Feeds partly on mollusks (Ref. 5259).
