Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 4279 - 5011 m
Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic: Venezuela and the Sargasso Sea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 59-65. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: long rakers on first gill arch 11-13; D 59-65, precaudal vertebrae 26-28, preanal length 57-61% SL; height of head 18.5-19.0 % SL (Ref. 105129).
Biology:  Viviparous with a female (6.1 cm SL) with distinct embryos (Ref. 105129).
