Diagnosis: body depth 8.2-9.4 times in SL; head length 4.3-4.6 times in SL; snout rounded, its length 2.4-3 times in HL; eye superolateral, its diameter 4.7-5.2 times in HL, 1.4-1.7 times in interorbital distance, 1.5-2.1 times in snout length; dorsal fin origin slightly in front of pelvic fin origin, equidistant from snout tip and caudal fin origin; anal fin 1.5-1.8 times further from pelvic fin origin than from caudal fin origin; pectoral fin large, 4-4.6 times in SL, 1-1.1 times longer than head length; pelvic fin 5.4-6.5 times in SL, 1.2-1.3 times in HL; caudal peduncle length 1.9-2 times its depth (Ref. 89136).
Description: mouth inferior; lower lip absent, but cutting edge present on lower jaw; scales on nape and belly rudimental, very small elsewhere; caudal fin with 19 soft rays, deeply forked, its lower lobe a little longer than the upper (Ref. 89136).
Coloration: ground color yellowish; mediolateral band of irregular spots; laterodorsal and mediodorsal surfaces with spots separated by a paler, irregular mottling; darker opercular spot present; caudal fin with spots in transversal bands, other fins without color (Ref. 89136). |
