Family:  Sciaenidae (Drums or croakers)
Max. size:  25 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 3 - 30 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Galapagos Islands.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Often occurs in large schools or loose aggregations above rocks, small boulder strewn slopes covered with leafy blade algae (Ref. 5227). Feeds mainly on zooplankton (Ref. 9118).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 13 September 2022 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
