Family:  Nothobranchiidae (African rivulines)
Max. size:  3.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 6.5 - 7.5; dH range: 8 - 10, non-migratory
Distribution:  Africa: Senegal, Gambia, Burkina Faso (Upper Volta), Mali, and Niger. Extends southward over the Accra plains in southeastern Ghana and southwestern Togo.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in temporary pools and swamps in the savanna (Ref. 3788). Bottom spawner, 3-4 months incubation. Is very difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
