Max. size:  24 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 20 - 50 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: Senegal to Annobon Island (off Gabon).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in coastal waters, on seagrass and algal bottoms (Ref. 7360). Nicholsina usta collettei subspecies recognized from the east Atlantic (Ref. 11064).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 17 September 2009 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
