Max. size:  35 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 600 - 1540 m
Distribution:  Northeast Atlantic: Iceland (Ref. 12462) and slopes around Rockall Trough, northwest of Ireland.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits the deeper parts of the continental slope and on slopes of submarine banks (Ref. 3167). Feeds on all kinds of bottom animals (Ref. 3167). Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Eggs have horn-like projections on the shell (Ref. 205).
