Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Originally throughout most of central Chile, in the latitudes approximately between present cities of Valparaiso in the north to Osorno in the south. Currently restricted to few spots mainly in regions of Concepcion, Rancagua and Angol.
