Max. size:  8 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 6 - 7; dH range: 4
Distribution:  South America: Amazon, Orinoco, La Plata, Approuague, Maroni and Mana River basins.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Can jump out of the water to escape predators. Feeds on small crustaceans; otherwise omnivore.
