Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 980 - 2100 m
Distribution:  Atlantic Ocean: in tropical waters. Also known from the Indian Ocean and the northwest Pacific; probably occurring in the eastern Pacific.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 10 February 2015 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
