Max. size:  13.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater, potamodromous
Distribution:  Africa: Cuanza, Kunene, (upper) Zambezi (Ref. 11970, 94473, 120641), Okavango and southern Congo River basin (Ref. 120641) in Angola. Also in the Kasai (Ref. 41590), middle Congo River (Ref. 41591) and Aruwimi (Ref. 106290) in Democratic Republic of the Congo; possibly also in Pool Malebo (Ref. 45486).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 26-26; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 33-33. Diagnosis: Marcusenius angolensis can be distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: number of anal fin rays 33, number of dorsal rays 26, anal fin length 25.7% of standard length, dorsal fin length 19.6% of standard length, and caudal peduncle length 17.0% of standard length (Ref. 75962). Colouration: colour in preservation: a homogeneous brown-ochre (Ref. 75962).
