Diagnosis:  This species can be distinguished by: D 72-90; A 58-72; P 15-17; C 10; absence of palatine teeth; rakers on anterior gill arch 17-19 (long gillrakers 3); occiput and area between lateral canal and preopercular canal scaled; diameter of pigmented eyes 1.1-1.9% SL; total vertebrate 50-53 (Ref. 123112).
