Environment:  demersal; marine, oceanodromous
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: Taiwan and Japan (Ref. 30397); new record in Indonesia (Ref. 93103).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 8-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-12; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 9-9. Caudal fin slightly forked with both lobes rounded; pectoral fins short (Ref. 30397). Fresh specimens are yellow on back (Ref. 30397).
