Distribution:  Pacific Ocean: mainly in tropical waters.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-15; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 17-20; Vertebrae: 36-38. 13-14 AO photophores; 7-8 tooth patches on the lower limb of the second gill arch; 36-39 lateral line organs (Ref. 36121). Pectoral fins with weak and flexible rays (Ref. 36121).
