Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Cyprininae
Max. size:  35 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Annam in Viet Nam, South-East Thailand, South-West Cambodia and Mae Khlong basin in Thailand (Ref. 26580). Possibly occurs in the Mekong but has not yet been recorded there (Ref. 12693).
Diagnosis:  Has 4 horizontal scale rows between lateral line and mid-dorsal scale row at dorsal-fin origin; 7-8 gill rakers on first arch (Ref. 12693).
Biology:  Found in medium to large upland rivers and probably migrates into smaller streams during rainy season (Ref. 12693).
