Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range - 960 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Atlantic: known only from the holotype found in the stomach of Himantolophus groenlandicus. The validity of this species is considered doubtful by Matsui & Rosenblatt (Ref. 10887) who consider the species a synonym of Sagamichthys schnakenbecki.
