Family:  Narkidae (Sleeper rays)
Max. size:  17.6 cm NG (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 160 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea (Gulf of Aqaba) and Gulf of Aden.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  A benthic species found on outer continental shelf. Presumably feeds on soft bottom invertebrates such as polychaetes and crustaceans. Males reaches maturity at ca. 15 cm TL. Material rare; specimens from Gulf of Aden and Red Sea slightly differ (Ref. 114953).
