Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-12; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 11-11; Vertebrae: 27-27. This species differs from its congeners in having the following set of characters: D VI-I,12; A I,11; pelvic-fin rays I,5 with the innermost (= fifth) segmented pelvic-fin ray unbranched, long, subequal to preceding ray in length; elongated body, depth at anal-fin origin 11.9% of SL; cycloid scales, restricted on posterior part of body (ca. 14-15 longitudinal scales); sensory canals and associated pores on head absent (Ref. 84003). |
The holotype, a mature female with numerous developed eggs in the ovary, was dredged at
53 m depth. No habitat information is known (Ref. 84003). |
