Family:  Sisoridae (Sisorid catfishes), subfamily: Sisorinae

Environment:  demersal; freshwater; pH range: 6 - 7.5; dH range: 20
Distribution:  Asia: India, Nepal, Myanmar and China. Reported from Bangladesh (Ref. 1479).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 5-6; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 6-7. Dorsal spine serrated along both edges; branched anal fin rays; interdorsal space 98.7 (87.5-106.1) % of adipose dorsal length; caudal peduncle height 40.1 (36.9-43.0) % of its length; equal lobe of caudal fin; maxillary barbels reaching posterior margin of pectoral base (Ref. 42988).
Biology:  Occurs in slow-moving rivers and streams.
