Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 59 m
Distribution:  Southeast Atlantic and Western Indian Ocean: Angola round the Cape to Delagoa Bay, Mozambique.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 49-54; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 24-27. Bluish or greenish above, more or less silvery; silver lateral stripe (Ref. 5465).
Biology:  Inhabits shallow coastal waters, mainly on sandy bottoms (Ref. 27121).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 14 May 2014 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
