Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 770 - 1875 m
Distribution:  Northeast Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea. Also Southwest Atlantic and Western Indian Ocean.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 69-82; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 61-76; Vertebrae: 51-61. Body short and moderately deep; covered by small and deciduous scales; ending in small and thin caudal peduncle; 51-61 total vertebrae; mouth floor, gill chambers, and lips dark; modified scales on lateral line about 21-25 (Ref. 31160).
Biology:  Inhabits continental slopes (Ref. 31160).
