Family:  Gobiesocidae (Clingfishes and singleslits), subfamily: Gobiesocinae
Max. size:  8 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; brackish; marine; depth range 0 - 33 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: Bermuda, New Jersey and northern Gulf of Mexico in USA to southeastern Brazil; absent from Bahamas. Eastern Central Pacific: coastal lagoons and tidal flats of Sonora, Sinaloa and Nayarit, Mexico (Ref. 27659).
Diagnosis:  About 6 faint lines radiate from eye. 2 widely separated patches of papillae in central part of sucking disk (Ref. 26938).
Biology:  Inhabits grassy and rocky shallow areas and around pilings. Has been reared in captivity (Ref. 35420). Usually found in water <1m deep but sometimes to depths of 33 m (Ref. 26938).
