Max. size:  22 cm TL (male/unsexed); 28 cm TL (female); max.weight: 57.1 g; max.weight: 84.3 g
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 200 - 670 m
Distribution:  Southern Ocean: Antarctic Peninsula, Elephant Island and Antarctic continental shelf.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Breeding stock in the Weddell Sea consisted of individuals larger than 20 cm SL. Adults feed mainly on pelagic crustaceans: Euphausia superba, Hyperiella antarctica, Euphausia crystallorophias and other amphipods (Ref. 5192). Larval pelagic phase is long (Ref. 41551).
