Diagnosis:  Distinguished by having the following characters: unbranched dorsal-fin rays 3; unbranched anal-fin rays 3; branched pectoral-fin rays 14-15; lateral-line scales 37; and circumpeduncular scales 12 (Ref. 96640); weakly developed proboscis; transverse scale rows 3.5-4.0/2.5/3.5; anal scale rows 5-6; and subcutaneous scales well developed on chest (Ref. 96639)
