Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Gulf drainages from Mobile Bay in Alabama to Neches River in Texas, USA; Mississippi River basin from Mississippi to southeastern Kansas, eastern Oklahoma and northeastern Texas.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits sandy and rocky pools, sometimes runs and riffles, of headwaters, creeks and small rivers.
