Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Gulf Slope from Yellow River system in Alabama and Florida, USA to Amite River system in Mississippi and Louisiana, USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in pools and backwaters of creeks and small rivers over sand or silt. Often found near vegetation.

Threat to humans:  harmless
