Max. size:  10.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 0 - 30 m
Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: endemic to New Zealand.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in rock pools and subtidal area down to 30 m. Usually found living on brown algae (Carpophyllum and Cystophora). Feeds on small weed dwelling crustaceans.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 04 May 2010 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
