Differs from all its congeners by the following characters: oral sucking disc small with posterior margin not reaching vertical of anterior margin of eye; rostral pair equal to eye diameter; maxillary pair of barbels not reaching posterior margin of oral sucking disc; mid-ventral region anterior to pelvic-fin insertion scaleless; eye visible in ventral view; prepelvic length 57.1-58.1% SL; pectoral-pelvic length 40.8-41.0% SL; head length 17.5-18.4% SL; snout length 44.9-47.2% HL (Ref. 75176).
