Max. size:  11 cm TL (male/unsexed); max. reported age: 4 years
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Atlantic Slope from Hudson River drainage in New York to Peedee River drainage in South Carolina, USA; isolated records in Lake Ontario drainage in New York.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits rocky and sandy pools and runs of creeks and small to medium rivers. Occasionally found in headwaters and large rivers (Ref. 86798).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 15 November 2011 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
