Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Cyprininae
Max. size:  15 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Mekong and Chao Praya basins.
Diagnosis:  Lacks barbels.
Biology:  Found in lowland floodplains. Most likely used to make prahoc (Ref. 12693).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 12 March 2011 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
