Distribution:  Western Atlantic: Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea to Colombia (Ref. 28767) and reported from Brazil (Ref. 128358).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Eggs have horn-like projections on the shell (Ref. 205).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 23 June 2019 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
