Family:  Cyclopsettidae (Sand whiffs)
Max. size:  18 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 46 - 366 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: Georges Bank to southern Florida, USA and eastern Gulf of Mexico from Florida to Yucatan, Mexico.
Biology:  Occurs in deeper water. Rarely found in shallow water.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 01 February 2013 Ref. (123251)
