Environment:  pelagic-neritic; freshwater; brackish; marine; depth range - 0 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: southeastern Florida, USA and northern Gulf of Mexico to Cuba and Yucatan, Mexico.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Forms schools in bays and waterways, especially around seagrass beds.
