Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Durban, South Africa (Ref. 11228), Delagoa Bay and Pinda in Mozambique. Records from Mozambique Islands and Zanzibar, Tanzania are uncertain.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 17-21; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 4-4
Biology:  Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205).
