Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 0 - 3184 m
Distribution:  Central Eastern Pacific: known only from a single leptocephalus collected between Ecuador and the Galapagos, 0°36'N, 82°45'W (type locality). Unassociated with an adult eel but may prove to be the larva of Chlopsis bicollaris.
