Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Yangtze to Amur basin.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal soft rays: 25-26. Linear lateral line. Dark gray in the back, gray in the upper part of the side, silver white in the lower side of the body and stomach (Ref. 33303).
Biology:  Spawning from June till the first half of July; fecundity 192,000 eggs.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 01 March 2007 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
