Max. size:  43 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 110 - 1100 m
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: endemic to Japan.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  A little-known distinctive deepwater dogfish, biology almost totally unknown. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 28 August 2019 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
