Max. size:  2.84 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 15 m
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: known only from Shiao-Liu-Chiu Island, off southwestern Taiwan.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 7-7; Vertebrae: 26-26. Diagnosed from other species of the genus by the following combination of characters: absence of posterior oculoscapular and preopercular canals; presence of five blackish brown cross bands on pale white body; presence of a large blackish brown blotch on caudal and pectoral fins; dorsal fin rays VI-I, 9; anal fin rays I, 7; pectoral fin rays 18; longitudinal scale rows 27-28; predorsal scale rows 9-10; vertebrae 26 (Ref. 76778). Description: transverse scale rows 11 (Ref. 76778).
