Family:  Pimelodidae (Long-whiskered catfishes)
Max. size:  100 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater, potamodromous
Distribution:  South America: Amazon and Orinoco River basins.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Appears to migrate during high water or flood season. Nothing is known of its feeding habits (Ref. 6868).
