Max. size:  5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 50 - 1021 m, oceanodromous
Distribution:  Indian Ocean: 20°N-18°S. Pacific Ocean: 30°N-20°S. South China Sea (Ref.74511).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-13; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 13-15; Vertebrae: 32-35. Branchiostegal rays: 9 (Ref. 31442).
Biology:  High-oceanic and mesopelagic, found in 525-725 m during the day and in 10-150 m at night (Ref. 4066). Oviparous, with planktonic eggs and larvae (Ref. 31442). Also Ref. 58302.
